Summer is here – and before we take a break, we're looking back at a spring full of experiments, collaborations, and new insights into AI and creativity.
In this final edition before vacation, you'll find highlights from our AI workshops, a conversation with filmmaker Daniel Nordberg, and examples of how students, designers, architects, and creative professionals are putting AI into practice.
Enjoy the reading, and thank you for being part of the journey!

How do you move from AI experimentation to real-world creative production?
Filmmaker and creator Daniel Nordberg shares lessons from working with generative AI in storytelling, animation, publishing, and media production. In our latest Q&A, he discusses creative workflows, AI literacy, and why human judgment remains essential even as the tools become more powerful.
Our popular workshop focuses on practical tools, creative workflows, and peer-to-peer learning. Come together with us to share experiences, test new approaches, and discuss how to integrate AI without losing creative control.
During the AI Sweden research collaboration kick-off at BTH, Martina Eriksdotter and Andrea Nordwall from Re:Create present early findings, lessons learned, and emerging insights from the project's work across the creative industries.
Student projects explore AI in film, VFX and architecture
As an extension of our efforts to support the creative sectors in concept and prototype development, Re:Create initiate collaborations with higher education institutions. The aim is to work together with actors from the creative sector to develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes with a higher Technology Readiness Level (TRL). Concepts are matched with students through thesis projects or project-based courses. To date, five undergraduate students from Blekinge Institute of Technology (Media Technology) have been involved in prototype development.
In June, partners in the Re:Create project gathered at Wingårdhs' Gothenburg office for a breakfast meetup exploring how AI is becoming part of everyday practice in architecture and design.
“AI is not merely something we need to adapt to, it is something we must actively help shape, both in terms of the broader conversation and how these tools are applied in practice. For us, the key is understanding where AI creates value and where professional judgment, responsibility, and experience must continue to guide decisions. Ultimately, it is not the technology that will be judged, but the quality of the buildings, cities, and places we leave behind.”
/Benjamin Lorentzson, Architect at Wingårdhs
A warm thank you to Wingårdhs for hosting the meetup and to all participants for contributing to inspiring discussions and new perspectives.
AI & Industrial Design 2.0
– Watch the conference and interviews
How is AI changing the role of industrial designers?
At AI & Industrial Design 2.0 in Lund, researchers, designers, and industry leaders explored how AI is reshaping product development, workflows, and design practice. Watch keynote interviews with Marija Grueva (Philips, pictured above) and Ibtissam El Hassani (Lund University), or revisit the full conference recording.
In this workshop, we explore agentic workflows that combine humans, automation, and AI in your everyday processes—as well as teams of agents that collaborate with one another. The format is hands-on and exploratory.
AI is transforming how we work, make decisions, and create value. But how do you ensure that AI is used in a way that is ethical, sustainable, and aligned with your organization's values?
AI for the Creative Sector is a bi-monthly newsletter sent out as part of the Re:Create project, an initiative led by AI Sweden.
Re:Create investigates how AI can strengthen and develop design processes by focusing on the participants' needs. The project is based on the actors' desire for skills development and to explore AI's possibilities for creative creation, production, and innovation, with a particular focus on visualization. The project focuses on creative industries such as fashion, architecture, film and design to create innovation between today's skills and tomorrow's opportunities.
